Happy Friday everyone!
Wow. Can you believe that we are onto the 5th challenge already? I love seeing your creations. I can see the love in each and every page. Scrapbooking has become an art. So much so, that I've found a poem written about scrapbookers.
Tale of a Midnight Scrapper
Author: Unknown
It’s nine o’clock, the baby’s in bed,
"Let's go also," my husband said.
"That sounds great!" in a hug we engage.
"Just give me 10 minutes, I'll finish a page!"
Thirty go by, my border's complete;
I layout my pictures so nice and so neat.
I add paper for color and a sticker or two.
How about a die cut, now that should do!
But then an idea pops into my head -
One more page, then off to bed!
I glance at the clock, it's 11:09!
This is it, I'll draw the line.
But my fingers keep cutting - the ideas are pouring;
From the back room, I can hear the snoring!
I look back at my work, I've done quite a bit.
It's midnight now - and time to quit.
I clean up my desk and turn off the light,
put my book on the shelf - 'til tomorrow night!
Now, before I get to the reveal, I would like to notify you all of a change that is taking place at Color Me Scrappy. Pam and I were extremely pleased with the turnout that we had for the first challenge. We had high hopes for this blog, and we still do. But it is taking a bit longer than we thought to find additional sponsors. As a result, we have decided to make the following changes...
Beginning June 1, 2012, we will have only 1 prize per month.
We will continue to have 2 challenges per month and we encourage each player to complete both challenges. For each challenge you complete, your name will be included in the drawing that many times. For example, if you complete the challenge on the 1st and the 15th of the month, your name will be entered twice, but if you only complete one of the challenges, your name will only be entered once.
We are hoping that participation level continues to grow and we are working on additional twists and turns to keep everything new and exciting.
To keep everything twisting and turning in this journey, we've decided that this months prize will be a mystery bag. Yup, you got it, nobody knows what's up for grabs. All I can say is that it is FULL of all kinds of goodies! Have fun ladies.
Now, when I first saw this color combo, I thought, "This is going to be hard!" I was wrong. I found that it was really a lot of fun and I didn't realize how much brown stash I had.
The DT Fav from Challenge #3 was invited back to be a guest designer for this challenge. Her profile is below as well as her fabulous creation.
Raechelle Bellus
Hello! :) I'm Raechelle (pronounced Rachel) Bellus from Spokane Valley, WA. I am excited to be a guest designer for this challenge, and I had a great time creating with this beautiful color selection! I am married to an amazing man, and am mom/full-time stepmom of 6 wonderful children; 5 girls and a boy. Three of our children are grown and creating their paths in life (ages 21, 21, 22), and we've got three beautiful girls still at home (12, 16, 17). I've been scrapping for about 10 years now. I love how putting paper and photos together create something beautiful that bring smiles to the faces of my children and that will be treasured for generations for come. I work part-time as a cashier at Michaels (and no- I do not find it hard to work there- if you look at something long enough, it's easy to bypass- lol), and enjoy reading, working puzzles and hanging out with my family.
Enjoy the inspiration! I know that I sure have.
