Design Team Call with an exciting announcement!!!

Good Morning! My name is Tammi Bennet and I am so excited to announce that I have taken over the ownership of Color Me Scrappy!!! Though I am fairly new to this site, I have been scrapping for many years and love the motivation scrap challenges give me! With that in mind, I hope to continue the fun that has always been found here at Color Me Scrappy, along with adding in some twists to grow this great site!! In order to do this, I am looking for some help from my fellow scrappers by way of a Design Team Call!!

Color Me Scrappy Design Team Call:

We are looking for fun, energetic, drama-free ladies with a passion for scrapping who love inspiring others with their creations! You must be willing to commit to creating 2 pages per month and to comment on all challenge entries. Also, you must have a facebook account, as that is where we post and chat about our upcoming challenges. If you think you have got what it takes and would love to be a part of this brand new challenge site, please send an email to Tammi at teajays@aol.com and include the following:

 - create a new project inspired by this color scheme AND the fun added  word challenge... NEW. Add an item on your project to represent each letter in the word NEW. (for exp N = nine, E = eyelet, W = wood veneer) Get Creative!!

 - your name and address information

 - your blog address
 - 2 of your favorite layouts (created within the last 3 months)
 - a short bio about yourself
 - why you would like to be a part of Color Me Scrappy
 - other design teams you are on and your monthly obligations to them

The design team term will be from June 2014 - September 2014. This call will end on May 17th with the design team announcement made shortly thereafter.

Wombat by Alexandra Boehnke

I really love this amazing color palette. My husband got two little wombats for his birthday and created an amazing little photo adventure for them. For the introducing page he took a pic of the little one. I grabbed a copy of the picture. It was so cute!

At first I looked for matching colors and stuff from my scrapbooking material. I had several paper scraps and a new overlay for KI Memories – with some color spots – this was my idea for this challenge. These are my supplies:

For my background I used the overlay and white cardstock. I marked the big stars with a pencil.

Here you can see all the marked stars:

Now I colored all the stars with water colors. Use the colors with lots of water for a great effect.

I put the overlay on the cardstock and spattered some drops on it. I added also some pencil scribbles on the background.

I added some paper stripes and punched stars around the layout and the cute picture.

I created the title with some alpha stickers and wrote the journaling with my favorite pen from Copic.

And it is complete! Here is the finished layout and some detail pics.

Ah, Spring ... we've been anxiously awaiting your return.   Those of us in the Mid-West, East Coast, most of the United States and Canada are EXTREMELY ready for warmer weather.   Mother Nature keeps teasing us by giving us little tastes of the good life, and then takes it away with more cold and snow.   Seriously, we're OVER it!  We hope this bright, fun palette inspires your inner Spring Goddess and you decide to play along!

TIP OF THE MONTH - APRIL

For our 'Tip of the Month' we've got a video by Valerie showing us how to color clear crystals to match our paper and layouts.     I know there are times that I end up not using any rhinestones or bling because they don't quite match the page I'm working on, so this will be another way for me to use my stash!

I just loved these colours from when I saw them, they gave me a ‘sunny & happy’ feel.

So I choose this photo of my 7 year old grandson Harry, to work with this palette -

he is such a dear lad & rather a wag too!

Found this little paper bag so added a journaling card, with my story tucked into it.

Challenge #59

Well, it finally feels like Spring has sprung in the Great White North. I can see grass in my yard and we are finally able to see our fire pit. I can't wait to get out there and use it.

When Spring hits, that usually means the amount of scrappy free time goes down... everyone want to be outside getting some fresh air. I'm sure I will be out there with the rest of them trying to soak up some of the sun, but that is why I went on a crop this weekend. I'm currently working on a couple different albums and really wanted to get them finished. Can you believe I managed 30 pages over the weekend? Figured I averaged about a page an hour. Phew! That's a lot!  Let's see what you can create with our newest challenge.

Check out the prize for April! It's a beautiful kit I put together with all you need to create 3 or 4 pages... tons of embellies, stickers, and paper.

Moving onto the challenge this time, it's a bit different than last month. We hope you enjoy this color scheme.
